Chubby legs...

I couldn't resist taking a picture of Aspen today before we left for church. As you all know my two daughters have extremely two different builds. The only thing that has been difficult to hand down to Aspen has been shoes. Kamden has the skinniest feet in the world and Aspen has very chubby feet and legs. (which I love) Most boots do not fit Aspen but I finally found a pair of Kamdens old ones that I didn't have to shove and force her calves in to get them zipped. Although, these had a little bit of a heel so it was hilarious to watch her walk. There were a few people at church that thought it was pretty funny too.

Halloween Party...

So I went to a Halloween party with 2 of my friends on Saturday night. I do love to dress up but I am so lame when it comes to thinking of an idea of what to be. So my friend had an extra dress of her daughters and let me borrow it which was nice, since I can never justify buying halloween costumes for myself. Brock was supposed to come too but he has been working 17 hour days this week and was really tired. So it ended up being a fun girls night out and cheaper since I didn't have to get a babysitter.
The Halloween Party was for a great cause. We have friends that have a little girl who just passed away Thursday morning from a brain tumor she has had since January. The party has been planned for awhile which made it even more important for the community to support since she just passed a few days ago. It has been really neat to see a small community really come together for this family. Jessica was such a strong, sweet little girl who will be greatly missed but I know she is so much happier now not having to suffer anymore. There was a great turn out and they were able to raise lots of money for the family.

Here are some crazy pictures of me. Most people did not recognize me at first. The picture below Brock took as Dawna was helping me get ready. Kamden and Aspen thought it was great. Kamden said "Wow mommy you look beautiful, you look like you are ready for the ball." I couldn't help but laugh because I wasn't really going for the beautiful princess look.

Here is Me, Dawna, and Shauna. Their husbands were out of town so it worked out well just having it a girls night. For all of you that know me, my favorite thing is to dance and Dawna and Shauna share that same interest. We had a really good time.

Enjoying the Fall...

Living in McCall you never know what weather you will get when. October usually is a very back and forth month, between cold, freezing and nice fall weather. We have been lucky this year and have had more of the actual fall weather I love. When the weather is nice the girls and I like to think of everything and anything we can do outside to enjoy it while it lasts.
Here is a picture of the girls in our backyard by our stream. The stream is my favorite thing about our piece of land. We can hear the stream at night from our bedroom windows. It is the best.

Here is a picture with Danner our neighborhood dog. She goes from home to home and everyone loves her. I would take this dog anyday if her owners would let us. The girls have so much fun with her. We spend lots of our day playing outside with her.

WOOO WEEE

Here is a picture of Aspen as she is telling me "EWWW mommy WOOO WEEE" She had gotten me the diaper changing pad, wipes and a diaper. It has been really funny to watch her because now everytime she goes WOO WEE she leans her body back, like get this out now! I hope this is a sign that potty training will be easy with her.

A funny side note. Brock was watching her the other day and she came to him saying "EWWW daddy" She then showed him her fingers which were brown. And he said "where did you get chocolate?" Very quickly realizing that it wasn't chocolate. She had reached her fingers down her diaper to scratch her itchy bum and came out with a bonus!! I know Brock didn't find that funny but I was laughing pretty hard when he told me.

Pumpkin Carving

On Monday we carved a pumpkin as a family. Not really my favorite thing to do but the girls love it. Kamden actually stuck her hands in the pumpkin this year to get the "squishy seeds" as she calls it. I was surprised because she does not like to get her hands dirty at all. I wasn't sure how Aspen would be with it, since last year she was pretty tiny. Well she loved it. Although every handful she pulled out she put in her mouth thinking she wanted to eat it!
As you can see they love their creation. Kamden made a mean face and kept telling Brock and I exactly how to carve the pumpkin all the while she is still making the mean face up until the pumpkin got finished. She is pretty proud of the outcome!

Speaker Phone...

So I walked into the girls playroom the other day and found Kamden talking in to a play Microphone pretending to cry really hard and I asked her what was the matter? She said " when you are up at the speaker phone at church you cry" Then she told us it was Aspen and my turn and we both had to cry when we talked into the speaker phone." My attention only lasted so long for this game as I had a lot of other things to do but she quickly pulled me back and said "Mommy you need to listen to me it is the spirit talking. "

I thought this was pretty funny so I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget. It probably is a hard concept to understand when you are young why people cry at the microphone in church.

Bucket Head...

For some reason Aspen loves to put this bucket on her head. She would wear it to the store if I let her. Here she is posing for a picture.

Sleepy Girl

I got this picture of Aspen as she just woke up.

Memory

On Sunday Brock, Kamden and I played a game of Memory. I just have this question, how can a 4 year old beat her parents? We weren't even helping her, we ourselves were trying to win. I remember my mom told me the same thing, that I always used to beat her at the game too when I was young. Anyway Kamden was sure excited that she beat us both, she kept telling us how many matches she got, compared to how many we got. :)

Learning at Home....

Kamden loves to do any activity where she is learning, that is at home. She will do workbook page after page. She wants to make crafts all day long, but her preschool is a different story. She is in Preschool this year and really enjoys going. That is after I stay for 5, 10, 15 mins when I drop her off. Then when I go pick her up her teacher always has a story about Kamden and her day. The teacher says she does fine until they do a craft she doesn't want to do or until they tell her to wash her hands. (she really has something with washing her hands, I know it is kind of strange but we are working on that at home.) The teacher has said that Kamden has just started having emotional break downs at school. She will just cry and cry for me. Maybe that is supposed to make me feel good but not really in this case. :) This has just started for kamden, the first month was fine. I think her schedule got thrown off when we had all of the company come, so hopefully this will pass very quickly. Kamden is so like I was when I was a little girl, that is a big reason why we have her in preschool this year so that when it is time to go to kindergarten I will not have to sit with her in class. :)
Here is a picture of her with her workbook. We just finished doing 10 pages!! I sure hope her desire for learning stays with her through high school but I think that would be too good to be true!!

So if any of you have any great suggestions on how to make her preshool time go more smoothly for her, myself and the teacher let me know. I have come up with a couple ideas that we are going to try this week so hopefully they will go well. She is such a bright, well behaved child, we just have to get her to be okay when I am not with her in new situations. Mom and Dad now I know what I put you guys through. :)

We Need Rain!!

Here in McCall we have had a very dry summer. I have been hearing we were in a drought but I didn't realize how much we need rain or snow until we drove up to this reservoir with my family. I was shocked, I have never seen it look so empty. It really looks like they emptied it out on purpose. We were walking right through where the water ususally is. I took some pictures, it was kind of crazy. This week should be a good one for moisture it is supposed to rain or snow everyday this week, which I am not excited about but since the mountains supply a lot of towns with their water I am thinking it is pretty important.

This rock is usually not visible at all. Pretty crazy that all the water is gone.

More Pictures

Here is Kamden sleeping in my closet. All the other rooms were being used for company and she grinds her teeth at night so I made it sound really cool to sleep in my closet. The poor little girl was such a good sport.
Aspen loved to sit in Emmas car seat.
Sorry mom, I know you won't like this picture. But you can look at Brinns site because she put the bad one of me up. I had to pick the better one of myself. :)
Here is Emma my niece, she is 5 months and so cute.

We walked to the River one night in our neighborhood. The girls love to climb the rocks.
Brock and I at the river in our subdivision. My favorite place to take our family walks.

Making Memories with Family

Nothing is better than having family come and visit. This past month we have had a lot of family come and it has been so fun. I was kind of sad today after I dropped off my parents at the airport because I realized it is now over. No more family here for awhile, now I have to face real life again. This week my parents came and Brinn, Kent and Emma. It was so much fun. We started off the week by my dad helping me get some things done in my house that haven't gotten done because my husband is so busy with work. My dad is so awesome. He likes to work when he takes vacations. I love it, he either is helping on our house or he goes to work with Brock. Thanks Dad for all of the things you helped me get accomplished.
Brinn and Kent came for the weekend. We crammed a lot of things in such as 2 hikes, hot springs, Breakfast, Brocks football game, an Idaho Steel Heads Ice Hockey game, some Indian leg restling and some stick pulling (the last 2 things only Brinn and I competeted in) Yes I beat her, I am still the strong sister. :)
I have to express to my mom a big thank you as well for always helping as much as she does. Before she left she made sure my whole house was cleaned so that I wouldn't have to do that after they left. That is the best feeling to have a clean house and not have to do it all yourself. Family is the best!!

I will post more pictures later of our week but right now my computer is being to slow

The Perfect Sandwich

While my sister was visiting she took a picture of the sandwich Brock made for his lunch. She thought it could easily be on a commercial. I think I have to agree, that is one good looking sandwich!!

Flag Football

Brock is playing flag football for the city league. He is loving it. It is the first year they have put a league together. He is like a kid in a candy store. He said he hasn't gotten this excited for something since he used to ride bulls. He loves to compete!! He put a pretty good team together. I have to say I really get into it as well. When ever my husband is so excited about something I am right there cheering him on. I have been made fun of already for being the team mom but thats okay I am just showing my support! Their team name is called "The Has Beens" I thought it was pretty funny. Here is Brock putting on his flags after he just scored his second touch down of the game!!

Here are some of the team wives at the game. (Aleah,me,Becky, and Julie) There are a couple missing but I can't blame them because it was sleeting and very cold that day.

My friend Paige and I at the game. She just moved :( Miss you Paige!

Mountain Biking

While Brocks family was here we got to go Mountain Biking. We were all beginners except Arriann (Brocks sister) but it had been awhile since she had gone. Barry treated us by renting bikes for all of us. Thanks Barry. We had a great time. I just love being in the mountains . Mountain biking is something I would love to do again. It is some great exercise. The only downfall was how cold it was. It was only 34 degrees when we started out in the morning.
Before I forget I need to give Grammy a big thank you also, She stayed home and watched the 4 kids. Arrianns 2 boys and my 2 girls. So thanks Rexanne it was so nice to get out and spend some time together. Sorry about Brocks socks in the picture below, I tried to tell him what he looked like but he didn't seem to care. :) I guess he was more worried about his pants getting caught in the chain.

Party # 2

I just wanted to put on a couple more pictures of Kamdens party we just had with Brocks family. She had a really fun time. The cake was awesome, Thanks Grammy. She also got a huge princess tent, Barbie car, makeup, everything she has wanted. We had a really fun weekend with the family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAMDEN

Kamden turned 4 on wed. october 3rd. We have had a lot going on the past couple of weeks and more to come in the next couple of weeks. My sister and 2 of her kids were here, so we celebrated a little party for Kamden before they left. Then Kamdens preschool had a little party for her there on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday we went to lunch with our friends that are moving and they got her a gift. Now today (Friday) Brocks family is coming for the weekend to help her celebrate , so we will have another party tonight. Then on Monday my parents are coming for a week visit and I am sure we will do some kind of birthday thing with them. I think this is the most celebrated birthday ever! Kamden is loving it though!! Kamden asked for her birthday to go and do build-a-bear. She was allowed to bring one friend and she chose her cousin Ainsley. It was a little strange because Kamden is extremely girly, so I didn't imagine she would have chosen a Triceratops to stuff. But she and Ainsley did, and they dressed it to look like a fairy. (Pretty funny)

Here are a couple of pictures from her first party!!

Kamden and Ainsley

Kamden with her Triceratops fairy!! Don't mind the plywood in the background, My husband is a general contractor!! :)

Beautiful McCall

While my sister Brittney was visting we decided to go on a hike to show her the beauty of where we live. This is one of my favorite hikes and I thought it would be an easy one for a first timer. :) I love going on hikes and where she doesn't share my same passion she was a good sport. Brittney did great she stayed with us the whole time. I am just giving her a hard time because she was so worried that she wouldn't be able to keep up, so she brought her Ipod to keep her company and she didn't turn it on once!
It was not the best day to go, it started raining once we got on the trail but we weren't going to let that stop us because we had already gotten a babysitter for the girls so we were going to enjoy our time whether it was raining or not. The waterfall was really low since it was the fall, But still fun to see. The best part of the hike was seeing and hearing Brock bugle with a bull elk. We all hid behind some trees and the bull elk was bugling and Brock was acting like he was a cow elk and calling back. It was pretty neat. It sounded like it started to come towards us but then turned around. My sister brings luck with the animals! A year ago when she was here visiting we saw a moose. This year we saw three 4 point Bucks and bugled with an Elk. Brock knows who he is calling next year to be his hunting partner. :)
Here are some pictures from our hike.
